Tasting Room Sales Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Novelty Hill-Januik Winery is an iconic winery located in Woodinville wine country, twenty minutes outside of Seattle, Washington. We are a well-established venue with award-winning wines, an exceptional culinary program, and state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities. 
This role is pivotal for providing superior customer service to all guests, while maintaining and running a very fast paced tasting room. Our tasting room staff is responsible for providing direction to all guests and the best possible presentation of both the wines and the winery here at Novelty Hill-Januik. Successful completion of this is critical to wine sales, the growth of the wine club and the winery’s success.

Job Responsibilities:
•  Guide guests through a tasting experience representing veteran wine maker Mike Januik with exemplary poise and flexibility 
•  Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of winery and its wines
•  Effectively inform and sell wine and wine club memberships to guests
•  Maintain a clean and organized tasting room
•  Work with other Tasting Room and Event staff to effectively facilitate handoff of spaces between departments
•  Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions with the cash register 
•  Serve brick oven pizzas to guests and bus tables
•  Provide general tourist information of the area

Qualifications:
•  A passion for wine, the wines of Washington, and a desire to continue learning.
•  Current Washington State Food Handler's card required. Must obtain Washington State Class 12 Liquor Permit within 30 days of hire.
•  Strong attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
•  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•  Consistent Friday through Sunday availability. 
•  Must be in good physical condition, able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, push up to 100 pounds with a dolly, and be able to stand on feet for up to 8 hours.
•  High School Diploma
