We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Part-Time, Tasting Room Reservationist to join our tasting room team at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, WA. Tasting room employees are the public relations ambassadors of the company. As such, tasting room personnel provide a warm welcome to all guests and provide a beyond-expectations experience, allowing guests to sample and purchase wine and merchandise. As a liaison between Ste. Michelle and the public, tasting room employees must demonstrate warmth, a sense of integrity, efficiency, and a growing knowledge about our wines. Successful members of the tasting room team will consistently display a positive, unflappable, can-do attitude at all times while providing excellent and accommodating customer service to each and every guest that visits our winery.

As a Tasting Room Reservationist, you set the tone for the winery experience and will ensure that every guest feels a positive and genuine connection with the winery. All guests should be greeted in a gracious, friendly, welcoming manner and this role must maintain an accommodating attitude as a representative of the company. One of the most important things to be a great Tasting Room Reservationist is to remember that while in the Tasting room, you are constantly on stage.

What you will do:

  • Service Standards: Be friendly, courteous and capable of interacting with a wide variety of personalities in a professional and polite manner, with an eagerness to meet the needs of every guest. Be accommodating, upbeat and inspired to make every guest’s experience special. Must be a self-starter that works efficiently with limited direction to identify needs of the business and implement solutions effectively.
  • Greet all arriving guests and provide a brief summary of the winery and provide direction appropriately.
  • Manage multi-line switchboard, answering, screening, and directing all winery calls.
  • Responsible for scheduling and choreography of appointments to ensure that the flow is appropriate for the space restrictions of the tasting room.
  • Welcome visitors and guests; direct guests appropriately for both scheduled and walk in appointments.
  • Provide accurate information about the company/winery to visiting guests as well as over the phone.
  • Provide accurate information about our wine club and mailing list and encourage guests to sign up.
  • Provide information about the mailing list and encourage guests to sign-up.
  • Utilize proper safety techniques at all times (i.e. hand-cart, lifting, glass handling etc.).
  • General housekeeping duties to ensure the appearance and cleanliness of the tasting room are up to or exceed standards.
  • Communicate any customer needs to other staff members.
  • Operate POS/registers to sell wine, merchandise, wine club memberships and to collect wine tasting fees as needed.
  • Provide customer assistance as necessary.
  • Conduct Private Client Sales calls as directed to support revenue growth.
  • Assist with fulfillment of wine club and eCommerce orders as necessary, including; pulling, packing and processing wine orders for delivery, as well as curbside pickup.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the tasting room management team.

Must be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Scheduling Requirements:
    • Must be able to work various days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
    • While hours are not able to be guaranteed at this time, you must be able to work at least 15 hours per week and up to 30 hours per week.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Stand/walk for extended periods of time.
    • Able and willing to work on-premise.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of customer service experience required (retail/hospitality preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, sales skills and the ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks is required
  • Professional personal presentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Goal orientated and able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to speak comfortably and audibly in front of groups
  • Ability to function and communicate effectively under pressure
  • Interest in or knowledge of wine and wine industry
  • Proficiency in Point of Sales (POS) systems and strong computer skills required
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office
  • Must be flexible and available to work varied hours
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • MAST Class 12 Permit required
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
