Novelty Hill-Januik Winery is an iconic winery located in Woodinville wine country, twenty minutes outside of Seattle, Washington. We are a well-established venue with an exceptional culinary program, award-winning wines and state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities.  

This role is pivotal for providing superior customer service to all tasting room traffic and guests, while maintaining and running a very fast paced tasting room that exists inside an equally busy venue space. 

Job Responsibilities:

•          Set the standard for service skills, salesmanship, and hospitality for all staff
•          Develop and construct elevated tasting room experiences with distinct goals and measures of success
•       Design programs to increase sales and average check
•         Manage and develop tasting room Leads and Associates
•          Manage a large, high-volume Tasting Room from the top down
•          Work with Winery Leadership on organization-wide development and growth
•          Set and meet department budget and budget goals set on an annual basis 
•          Develop and implement a training and education program for all Events and Tasting Room staff
•          Develop and implement incentive program for tasting room team
•          Motivate and mentor tasting room staff for absolute success
•          Supervise and run a tasting room representing veteran wine maker Mike Januik with exemplary poise and flexibility 
•          Maintain tasting room data for trends in sales
•          Manage and communicate wine inventory and availability for retail sales
•          Participate in all wine club events, including release weekends
•          Manage the hiring, and training all Tasting Room staff
•          Work with Sales Department for VIP guests
•          Problem solve with vendors 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum 3 years of winery  experience with a proven track record of sales success in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment
• Hospitality and/or food and beverage industry experience preferred
• Schedule flexibility is a must; work week will be Thursday – Monday
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year university preferred
• Seasoned professional who is ready to contribute to our company on day one and who can contribute to our long-term strategic goals
• Strong attention to detail and superb organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to be self-managed, yet also a team player
