Tasting Room Wine Educator (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

L’Ecole Tasting Room Wine Educators serve as the direct point of contact to our customers. They are ambassadors of the L’Ecole brand and are expected to embody our customer service ideals. In order to ensure each guest enjoys their time with us, it is vital for our tasting room team to work together both in the presence of customers as well as behind the scenes.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•  Arrive promptly on time ready to do the job
•  Open and close the tasting room
•  Prepare cash drawer for daily sales.
•  Greet each guest warmly and in a timely manner
•  Present yourself in a professional, positive demeanor to customers
•  Provide guests with a positive and memorable experience
•  Pour and describe each wine
•  Speak informatively of L’Ecole N° 41, our Estate Vineyards - Seven Hills & Ferguson, the Walla Walla Valley Appellation & general wine country information
•  Have general knowledge of our winemaking philosophy as well as harvest and crush procedures
•  Sell wine and actively present & promote benefits of our wine club
•  Ring up tasting room sales accurately
•  Attend monthly employee meetings
•  Maintain the tasting room sales floor
•  Wash and polish glasses
•  HAVE FUN!

In addition to the day to day operations above, Tasting Room Wine Educators are assigned other projects.
Examples of these additional duties:
•  Host press, trade, and other special customers
•  Unpack, organize and label merchandise
•  Stock shelves (wine and merchandise)
•  Assist with special events and functions

Minimum Requirements:
•  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 hours+)
•  Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly
•  Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
•  Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, health and safety
•  Maintain an enthusiastic, engaging and cheerful attitude
•  Candidates must be at least 21 years old
•  Passion for wine and a willingness to learn
•  Maintain or will acquire MAST certification (WSLCB)
•  Maintain or will acquire Walla Walla County Health Departments Food Handler Permit
