Marketing Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

L’Ecole No 41 is looking for the perfect Marketing Manager

Family-owned since 1983, L’Ecole No 41 is a leading WA winery, located in the Walla Walla Valley. We are currently seeking a full-time Marketing Manager to join our team at our schoolhouse winery offices in Lowden, WA. This position covers several key areas of responsibility: Brand Development Strategy & Execution, Public & Press Relations, Supporting Direct to Consumer & Distribution Sales Efforts.

*Strategic Marketing & PR Responsibilities*
Working closely with the entire L’Ecole team, develop, plan and implement L’Ecole’s marketing programs.
As per your skills and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborating on the development of a creative, comprehensive marketing strategy
  • Managing marketing budgets efficiently
  • Working with external PR contacts to develop appropriate press releases
  • Coordinating media relations and opportunities to gain visibility for L’Ecole No 41
  • Creating and maintaining printed materials, including new release tech notes
  • Developing social media strategy/plan, working with team to carry out social media activity
  • Ensuring all collateral materials are current and regularly refreshed
  • Managing press submissions, and maintaining positive press relations
  • Seeking out new opportunities for appropriate consumer, influencer and press exposure
  • Developing and maintaining L’Ecole’s photos & video resources, working with photographers/videographers to ensure fresh photo and video assets
  • Producing written content for newsletter, blog posts and tasting notes
  • Evaluating packaging trends to flag possible improvements
  • Managing SEO, including understanding of Google analytics to adjust and maximize L’Ecole’s visibility online
  • Evaluating impact/ROI of events
  • Maintaining and/or evolving L’Ecole Website
  • Graphic design skills a plus

*Supporting Direct to Consumer Sales Efforts*
The L’Ecole team responsible for DTC encompasses sales via telephone, internet and our award-winning Tasting Room. L’Ecole’s Direct to Consumer sales activities are dynamic, with potential for continued growth. Supporting this effort would entail working closely with our Wine Club and Tasting Room managers.

As per your skills and experience, responsibilities may include:

•  Representing L’Ecole at seasonal Vins de l’Ecole wine club events (away from winery)
•  Interfacing with the public, including Club members at winery events (at winery)
•  Working with both Tasting Room and Wine Club Managers to help execute their respective strategic plans
•  Innovating creative ideas for ensuring L’Ecole is on every possible visitor’s short list
•  Ensuring all winery events are publicized through all proper channels and outlets
•  Working with Club Manager, devise & execute direct email program

*Supporting National/International Sales Efforts*
The L’Ecole Global Sales team is responsible for driving sales through wholesalers across the U.S., and numerous export markets, L’Ecole’s National business is a source of pride, and an area which will continue to grow. Supporting this effort would entail working closely with our National/International Sales Director and her team.

As per your skills and experience, responsibilities may include:

•  Working with outside designer(s) and suppliers/printer(s) to create new POS materials as needed, including hard goods
•  Supporting L’Ecole’s efforts to present creative ideas for developing business with key accounts
•  Evaluating potential in-market event participation to determine ROI, recommending participation where appropriate
•  Supporting Sales Managers’ market work (travel) to maximize the impact of in-market efforts

  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as (ideally) WordPress and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be able to lift 38 lbs.
  • Available to work during business hours, and periodic evenings or weekends
  • Some business travel ~ up to 20%

Salary commensurate upon qualifications and experience.
