Long Shadows Vintners is a collection of seven ultra-premium Columbia Valley wines showcasing the viticultural excellence of the growing region and honoring the internationally acclaimed winemakers who inspired them.
Founded in 2003 by Washington State wine visionary Allen Shoup, the Long Shadows proposition was as simple as it was complex: recruit a cadre of the finest winemakers in the world; give each vintner access to Washington State's best grapes; and outfit a winery to accommodate a diverse group of winemakers' exacting cellar specifications. The idea quickly sold itself, and from the beginning, the wines have enjoyed critical acclaim that has continued to grow vintage after vintage with the style of each wine firmly in place.
Long Shadows Vintners is searching for team members to join us for the quickly approaching 2018 harvest! We are looking for enthusiastic, detail oriented individuals with a passion for winemaking. Interns have the opportunity to work with fermentations of large and small size, that exemplify the style of each of our distinct wines and winemakers. Experience working in a winery or pursuing a wine related degree is a plus but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time are all part of the day’s work. We do require that proper safety, winery sanitation, and work policies are followed. It’s important for qualified candidates to be willing to work efficiently for long hours (including weekends), get dirty, and have a good attitude. Teamwork and individual responsibility to the project are key attributes to success. Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates.
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Fruit sorting
• Pump overs/ punch downs
• Additions to fruit/ juice/ or wine
• Fruit/ juice/ wine transfers
• Operating crush equipment: including de-stemmer, bladder press, and basket press.
• Barrel preparation, filling, and emptying.
• Sanitation, sanitation, and more sanitation.
All interns will be trained on our policies for safety, sanitation, and work conduct.
Salary Information: Hourly DOE
