Winery Description
Sine Qua Non is a leader of small-production, artisanal Rhone varietal wines in California. Owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Elaine and Manfred Krankl, Sine Qua Non consistently produces some of the most critically acclaimed and highly sought after wines in the world.
Position Description
Sine Qua Non Winery is currently looking for assistance for the 2018 Harvest. Duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, working in the vineyard, preparing the winery for harvest, fruit processing, pressing, barrel work, fermentation monitoring, and general sanitation of the winery and equipment. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic, manage stressful situations well, have a willingness to learn, and must work well in a team environment.
Desired Attributes
- Previous hands-on experience at high quality winery is preferred, but not essential
- Ability to work hands-on within a team of long-time employees
- Ability to physically lift 50 lbs. minimum
- Ability and willingness to work variable hours/days required during the harvest period
- Forklift certification preferred, but not essential
- Experience is great, but attitude trumps experience. Experience and great attitude wins.
- Strong verbal and written English skills
Wage shall be commensurate with experience. Position is seasonal with the possibility of full time employment. The start date is negotiable, but preferably late June/early July.
