Seeeking a successful wine sales person who can be an asset to both our clients and our company by partnering in a successful sales relationship that lasts over years and ultimately brings profitabilty and growth for all parties. Candidates will have familiarity with the retail and/or hospitality industry sale of wine, as well as possess experience in selling to retail wine shops or restaurants.
Job expectations:
- Make regular sales calls to designated accounts to cultivate customer relations and satisfaction with the best service possible.
- Develop territorial sales strategy for brand portfolio, diversification and penetration in each account.
- Demonstrate consultative sales abilities through successful presentations of product, the promotion of new and existing portfolio items and the expansion of business.
- Exhibit discipline and resourcefulness to meet/exceed assigned monthly goals and placement objectives.
- Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and continuing education of industry trends/developments.
- Review customers' credit status, collect monies owed for product and partner with Customer Service Department to ensure accounts remain in good standing.
- Conduct wait staff training seminars, execute promotions and install point of sale materials.
- Recommend wines, create/design wine lists and wine by the glass programs utilizing full knowledge of BI portfolios.
- Present self with integrity professionalism and commitment to Bourget Imports sales representative responsibilities and policies.
- Available for ride-with with BI management and work-with for suppliers.
- Maintain and update weekly sample inventory for tasting in accounts.
- Complete administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrate a track record of goal achievements while maintaining a communicative rapport with customers and management.
- Report as required to Management team, updated account route sheet, and account updates ( i.e. payment status, contact changes etc)
- Maintain accurate historical account purchase information and communicate with Management on all sales issues, inventory levels and out of stock situations due to possible fluctuations in demand
- Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and continuing education of industry trends and developments
- Be a supportive member of the sales team members, sharing in the sharing of strategies, team building, and education
- Have a strong working knowledge of Global Viticultural areas, and the ability to discuss wines of those regions comfortably. WSET, Court of Master Sommelier, or equivalent training is a plus, hands on experience in a vineyard or winery is a plus, years of wine appreciation and self study will be considered.
- Overall, you must possess a desire to continue your education in wine as a lifetime practice, due to everchanging trends, climates, technologies, that influence the wines we enjoy.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience
