Facilities Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

We are currently recruiting a Facilities Manager. This position will provide a safe, well maintained and comfortable environment for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties located in or near St. Helena, California. Responsible for upkeep, maintenance, repair and renovation of all assets. The Facilities Manager ensures the proper operation of buildings, accessory areas, infrastructure, utilities, life safety equipment, MEP systems and landscape. Oversees the day-to-day management of facilities and supervise Maintenance Technician and Janitorial Staff. Will handle all inquiries with tact and diplomacy, and will respond in a timely and professional manner.

Maintenance

  • Maintain assets to the highest standards and ensuring safe and enjoyable condition for guests, tenants and residents.
  • Maintain and repair buildings, landscape, MEP systems and life-safety equipment, as necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance and renovations are done in an efficient manner that minimizes inconvenience to guests, tenants and residents.
  • Pro-actively propose, plan and manage implementation of building and property improvements, preventative maintenance, repairs and renovations of the property utilizing both capital and operations funds.
  • Negotiates contracts for construction, maintenance, security, trash, life-safety inspections and testing and landscape services.
  • Provides management and oversight of tenant improvements, facilities renovations and property upgrades.
  • Performs and/or assist Maintenance Technician and vendors with repairs and maintenance. 
  • Assures all MEP and life safety equipment are in proper working order and compliance with respective local, state and federal governing entities.
  • Responsible for upkeep and proper functioning of utilities and underground infrastructure including but not limited to water, electric, gas, sewer, etc.
  • On-call 24/7 for emergencies repairs.

Administration/Compliance

  • Responsible for supervision of Maintenance Technician and Janitorial Staff. 
  • Oversees and ensure compliance with all permits and licenses to operate facility. 
  • Responsible for employee safety training, evacuation plan and training and accident reporting.
  • Liaison with administrative office.
  • Prepares Purchase Orders and process invoices for payment.
  • Procure supplies and materials for normal operation and preventative maintenance. 
  • Maintain schedule and logs of preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate work of outside contractors and vendors.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years experience in at least one of the following: Construction Management, Property and Equipment Maintenance and/or Property Management. 
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, equipment repair and HVAC skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize schedule.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to take direction and instruction from multiple people.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel), Management +Pro and Internet.
  • BS or BA in related field.
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance. 
  • Willing and able to:
  • Lift and handle materials weighing 50 lbs. or greater.
  • Work in small, confined spaces.
  • Grasp, stoop, squat, climb stairs, push or pull, carry, and reach over shoulder.
  • Stand on hard surface for extended period.
  • Work outdoor in extreme conditions.
