Accounting Assistant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Whitehall Lane Winery is an established family-owned winery dedicated to creating quality wines in Rutherford appellation. We are seeking a full time Accounting Assistant to perform a range of general clerical and bookkeeping support functions with an emphasis on accounts payable and accounts receivables. Well-qualified candidates are detail-oriented, highly organized, energetic and enjoy working within a team.

This position will work closely with the General Accountant and will be the main contact for external vendors and internal employees for accounts payable and accounts receivables inquiries. 

Duties include:
•  Coding vendor invoices to the correct general ledger account
•  Processing AP and AR
•  Processing Wholesale orders through Quick Books
•  Assisting in month-end and year-end tasks
•  Sending monthly AR statements to customers
•  Preparing deposits, process AR payments/deposits
•  Monthly counting and reconciliation of cased goods inventory
•  General administrative duties and tasks
•  Maintaining 1099 vendors
•  Preparing and entering daily retail sales data and code sales tax
•  General administrative duties and tasks

A high school diploma is required plus a minimum of two years experience in clerical accounting. An associate degree in business or accounting as well as knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel is required as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
