Materials Planner (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

SUMMARY: The Materials Planner will create and maintain a material replenishment plan and place orders with vendors for all DWC bottling materials (cork, capsules, glass, labels, etc.…) This position will work closely with the Packaging Manager and all production facilities, to ensure materials arrive on time and in full to meet bottling requirements.

This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to react quickly to changing requirements and a fast-paced environment.

  • NAV production data management including bill of materials, routing, work orders, and related data.
  • Generate materials replenishment plan for all DWC brands and communicate forecasts to vendors.
  • Place material orders with vendors based on established economic order quantities with Packaging Manager.  Ensure PO’s are requested/created with accuracy in volume, delivery dates, and costs.
  • Track changes to bottling schedule and update orders as necessary calling out risk to potential oos situations or suggesting alternatives to the schedule.
  • Work with warehouse and QC to ensure goods are received and align with orders placed according to approved specs.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory of bottling materials at multiple sites. Investigate discrepancies and mitigate write-offs.
  • Ensure NAV master data of material and finished goods specs are accurate.
  • Coordinate transfers of materials between bottling sites. 
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in winery operations (or other premium consumer product) capacity with an emphasis on planning, purchasing, inventory or other related operational function.
  • Experience with ERP systems – NAV preferred.
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft OS – Outlook, Word, and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
  • Must be self-directed and work well within cross-functional teams.
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. (9.0-liter case of wine)
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
  • Possess a Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
