Position Summary:

The Events Manager will have responsibility for the daily communication with Members of The Napa Valley Reserve and the provision of warm, personal and professional service to them as well as their families and guests. You will manage day to day operations of events and wine tastings. You will be responsible for all aspects of running these events, large and small, smoothly and efficiently, including scheduling, maintaining files and databases, and the organization of event collateral materials. You will bring to this position your knowledge of wine, food, entertaining and the art of hospitality and continue to develop your knowledge within the position. You will act as a concierge to Members, assisting them with needs related to their Membership, including accommodations at Meadowood, dinner reservations, limousine service, and arranging social functions.

Major Responsibilities & Work Activities:

  • Managing Marketing and Member Events.
  • Be a point person for all activities and programs for Members.
  • Keep The Reserve’s management team informed of special member requests and comments.
  • Keep the master schedule of events, activities and programs, scheduled by year, date and time up to date.
  • Enter any required events into Visual One and create BEOs.
  • Attend all monthly department meetings.
  • Assist with tastings, tasting set-up and clean-up.
  • Assist Senior Event Manager with Curriculum events.
  • Must be available nights and weekends.
  • Create event folders

  • Attentiveness and attention to detail in all areas of production and communication on behalf of The Napa Valley Reserve.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow up.
  • Good attitude with a willingness to pitch in when necessary.

Experience Required:

  • Five (5) years of hospitality industry experience dealing with high-end wine consumers preferred.

Special Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior experience in event management will be key to your success in conceptualizing, planning and executing events at the highest level to meet the standards of The Napa Valley Reserve and its Members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, email and Internet. Strong computer skills are important in this position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with Members, vendors and staff in a professional, respectful and friendly manner.
  • Ability to reason well and to solve problems logically and thoroughly.
  • Mathematical skills are needed most specifically for the development of budgets for specific events.
  • The ability to use common sense.
  • Ability to keep office space neat and organized.

Education, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have high school diploma
  • College degree preferred
  • Valid California Drivers License
  • Tips and RBS Certification
  • Food Handler's Card

Physical Demands of Position:

  • Able to be on feet, walking for long periods of times.
  • Lifting of items up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, squatting, kneeling and reaching
  • High energy

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, sitting for long periods of time.
  • Able to work under variable weather conditions for outdoor events.
  • Required to work Weekends, Holidays, evenings and special events.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 annual salary based on relevant experience.
