Iris Vineyards is hiring for our new tasting room, opening in downtown Springfield, OR! Our Tasting Room will feature our award-winning wines paired with carefully crafted cheese, charcuterie barrel aged cocktails and local ales.

We are looking to add an outgoing Tasting Room Associate to our team who will provide an exceptional customer experience to each visitor by offering wine and food tastings, running special event, and conducting daily wine sales. This position requires excellent communication skills with management, customers, and other associates, as well as the ability to converse easily with many people from diverse backgrounds. Associates are also responsible for assisting with special events held both onsite and offsite and includes weekends and some holidays. Regular schedule is expected to be Thursday – Sunday.

 

Essential Functions:

• Conduct sales and provide hospitality in the tasting room.
• Represent Iris Vineyards professionally and educate guests on wines, vineyards and winery history.
• Interact with guests in a warm, fun, professional, and enthusiastic manner.
• Maintain an inviting and clean environment (indoor and outdoor areas & restroom.)
• Stock merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Help coordinate TR and Wine Club events. 
• Process phone orders and wine shipping orders.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
• Follow all appropriate policy and safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Success Factors:

A successful candidate will be a “people person” who is genuinely interested in others, is an excellent listener, and enjoys interacting with others even when they are complete strangers. Ability to work independently at times without significant direction or supervision is a must. Highly motivated and able to take direction. Representation of the company and brand in a professional, gracious, and enthusiastic manner.

Qualifications:

• 2 years in hospitality or sales with good knowledge of wines.
• Past winery tasting room experience a plus, but not required. 
• Proficient in POS systems required.
• Knowledge of wine production and/or experience in tasting room sales a plus.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• May need valid driver license with acceptable driving record. 
• Must possess or be able to obtain OLCC alcohol servers permit and food handler’s permit.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Covid-19: Candidates must be fully vaccinated or willing to become fully vaccinated prior to employment.

Pay ranges between $19-21/hour plus bonuses. DOE
