Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Ceja Vineyards is an ultra premium Latino family owned winery in Sonoma. Assist in creating and executing exceptional and personal high-end guest experiences. Drive revenue and take an important role in building direct sales. Help with ongoing outreach to other wineries, concierge and tour companies to generate traffic to our Sonoma tasting room. Primary functions include: daily operational duties, hosting tastings and creating direct-to-consumer sales business and wine club building.

We are seeking highly motivated and personable individuals with a great sense of humor who are available to work part-time 1 to 3 days per week. Our tasting room is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 5pm. The successful candidate will have previous DTC experience, knowledge of wine and of the Sonoma and Napa wine industry who is able to entertain and engage all types of people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties and responsibilities as assigned)
-Help manage reservations and all aspects of tastings 
-Expected to meet or exceed set goals and sell wine and wine clubs 
-Assist in event coordination and management
-Hosting industry related gatherings, by appointment, to showcase wines and venue.
-Procurement of non-wine items, i.e. glassware, bottle openers, merchandise, etc. as deemed appropriate.
-Provide creative ideas and participate in brainstorming meetings to continually enhance visitor experience and increase direct sales and make winery a great place to work as a team
-Oversee daily wine inventories and wine ordering
-Oversee daily opening and closing procedures and all operations of tasting room
-Keep accurate records of all transactions and point-of-sale procedure
-Help maintain and manage the daily Hospitality Google calendar for all team members to reference
-Create a positive and memorable wine tasting experience for guests to build customer loyalty and build on mailing list
-Data entry and management of mailing list and sales orders
-Help train new team members and staff according to tasting demand and season
-Must be good with computers in general 
-Assist with developing an outreach program and Customer/Sales Liaison and keep in constant contact with wineries, B&B, hotels, and transportation companies 
-Develop and maintain relationships with Sonoma and Napa wineries, and other gatekeepers and partners to refer business 
-Represent winery at outside tasting events and assist in annual calendar of events onsite & offsite
-Willing to occasionally travel to special events for the purpose of marketing wines

Physical Requirements:
Stand for prolonged periods. Lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position.
Work days are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The hours of work per week depend on the days you are able to work.

Being bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus.
