Free Flow Wines is looking to hire a Lab Technician to support the lab lead technician and cellar staff by sampling and adjusting all wines that arrive at our facility. Also aiding cellar staff in set-up, filtration, and finalization of all lots at our Sonoma facility.
Some Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform analyses on wines including FS02, DO, DCO2, Alcohol, Turbidity
• Adjustment of wine based on analyses
• Sterility and handling of finished wines
• Bulk wine management
• Work with a production schedule to become self-directing
• Forklift command; including all safe operating practices
• Tank sanitation and QC checks
• Empty tank and floor space management
• Communication with lab lead in regard to all incoming wines and Wine analysis and sample pulling
Qualifications
• High school education required.
• Previous experience in a similar position a plus.
• Working knowledge of cellar equipment, particularly a canning line.
• Knowledge or having worked with production schedules preferred.
• Forklift operation experience a plus, but not required.
• An understanding of sterility and handling finished wine.
• Excellent verbal and written skills required.
• Can perform basic math.
• Must have reliable transportation, be punctual and maintain good attendance.
• Physical demands: lift 40-60 lbs.; stand and walk during most of the shift; work in cellar with all wine lab equipment; moderate daily use of a computer; occasional stairs and ladder climbing.
Compensation
• Compensation is $16-$20 per hour, depending on experience.
• This is a Non-Exempt, Hourly position.
• Med., Den., PTO & Holiday pay available after a waiting period.
