Sojourn Cellars, (winner of the 2019 Wine Spectator Video Contest), produces highly rated Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Sonoma Coast, Russian River and Napa Valley appellations. We are a small team working in a fast-paced, high growth, entrepreneurial environment. Our offices and Tasting Salon are located in the town of Sonoma. We are looking for an experienced, full-time Director to lead our marketing efforts.

You will be responsible for developing our brand and driving incremental sales through effective marketing strategy formulation, customer acquisition, analytics and digital marketing. In addition, you will lead the marketing team in developing specialized wine marketing programs and materials, managing our website, social media and external communications, planning and executing special events, and overseeing our customer database. A qualified candidate will have proven wine industry experience developing effective marketing strategies and tactics that leverage existing customer data and insights.

Some travel and weekend/evening work will be required.

Job Responsibilities -
•  Formulate and execute strategic and annual marketing plans addressing all aspects of the marketing mix.
•  Develop communications and content for DTC and wholesale marketing programs including digital and print materials.
•  Maintain the customer database, leveraging analytics and data mining techniques to drive incremental sales.
•  Manage the Sojourn Cellars website and online store.
•  Lead and direct the semi-annual wine release, DTC allocation and sales process.
•  Drive incremental sales, brand awareness and customer engagement through effective social media management.
•  Represent the winery at marketing events with consumers, trade and media.
•  Plan and manage wine release and other consumer focused events.
•  Manage public relations and wine reviewer
•  Grow, coach and develop the Sojourn marketing team in line with the brand’s growth and business needs.

Qualifications -
•  Knowledge of and passion for the fine wine category, including an understanding of wine market trends and opportunities for growth in DTC and wholesale channels
•  Previous eCommerce, digital marketing and wine experience
•  Strong analytic and problem solving ability with advanced Excel skills
•  Understanding of Google Analytics, SEO and website performance optimization
•  Superior verbal and written communication and editing skills; copywriting experience a plus
•  Experience working with key wine media and wine reviewers
•  Experience using HubSpot or similar advanced email marketing/CRM platform
•  Basic HTML and graphic design skills, an added plus if you have experience using Photoshop
•  Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines with meticulous attention to detail
•  Comfort and confidence in presentation and sensory evaluation of fine wine
•  Ability to lift 50 pounds as required
