Job Description:
The Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales in the tasting room and at the Ranch House. This position combines hospitality and sales, engaging guests with Alma Rosa’s story and wines, guiding them through tastings, and converting visitors into long-term customers and club members.

Job Summary
Sales Associates are the front line of Alma Rosa’s brand. They welcome and guide guests through tastings, deliver memorable experiences, and drive sales of wines, memberships, and events. They also support day-to-day tasting room operations, provide outstanding customer service, and ensure that every guest leaves with a strong impression of Alma Rosa’s quality and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Sales
Provide warm and knowledgeable hospitality to all guests in the tasting room and Ranch House.
Conduct guided tastings that educate visitors on Alma Rosa’s wines, history, and sustainability practices.
Promote wine sales, wine club memberships, and special experiences.
Upsell library tastings, curated packs, and events to increase average order value.
Customer Service & Relationship Building
Ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued, providing personalized recommendations and follow-up.
Develop strong relationships with repeat visitors and club members to encourage loyalty and referrals.
Gather and share guest feedback to improve the overall customer experience.
Operations & Support
Assist with daily tasting room setup, breakdown, and cleanliness to maintain a luxury-standard environment.
Accurately process orders, handle payments, and manage POS transactions.
Support events and offsite promotions as needed.
Comply with ABC regulations and all applicable state and federal laws regarding alcohol service.
Qualifications
Prior experience in hospitality, retail sales, or customer service (wine industry experience preferred).
Passion for wine, food, and hospitality; willingness to learn about Sta. Rita Hills and Alma Rosa’s portfolio.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with guests.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required for events.
Physical ability to lift and move wine cases (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
POS and CRM experience a plus.
