Position: Harvest Winemaking Intern
Location: Ron Rubin Winery, Sebastopol, CA
Status: Seasonal full time August 13th to November 2nd, 2018

Position Summary: Harvest winery interns will perform a complete range of harvest activities from grape to barrel. Participate in all aspects of wine production in collaboration with our experienced winemaking team.
Essential Job Functions:
• Grape receiving, sorting and processing,
• Juice and wine racking and transfers
• Daily punch-downs and pump-overs
• Winery facilities and equipment cleaning
• Process equipment cleaning, sanitation and operations
• Assisting with cellar and barrel work
• Assisting with all harvest winery activities
• Daily fermentation checks of brix and temperature
• Yeast, nutrient and acid additions to juice and wine
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Flexibility in scheduling required during harvest season, including working overtime hours and weekends as needed.
• Required to be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED from accredited institution
• One-year winery or related production experience, with knowledge of standard winery equipment a plus, but not required.
• Required to lift and move equipment and cases of product that weigh up to 50lbs
• Required to conduct work at elevated heights
• Ability to work inside or outside in changing temperature and humidity levels
• Ability to communicate in English and carry out detailed written and oral instructions
• Good attitude and willingness to precisely follow instructions and learn new processes
• Complies with winery production and safety protocols and winery sustainability program
