Shipping Assistant & Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

As Foxen’s direct-to-consumer shipping assistant and tasting room associate, you will be responsible for sharing Foxen’s world-class wines with our customers through both in-person interaction and fulfilling orders to be sent direct from our winery. Characteristics of success in this role include previous experience in shipping/fulfillment; previous customer service experience; and having the ability to multi-task and work under deadlines. We are looking for someone who is passionate about wine, self-motivated, takes pride in doing excellent work, and can both teach and learn from those around them.

Reports to: Shipping Manager and Tasting Room Manager

Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week, Saturday through Wednesday 

Shipping Assistant Work Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 

Tasting Room Associate Work Days: Saturdays, Sundays

Compensation Range & Benefits: $16-$18/hour, plus commisions; healthcare, Simple IRA, paid time off

Responsibilities:

Shipping Assistant 

  • Assist Shipping Manager to process and pack shipping orders in a timely, efficient, organized, and accurate manner using VinNow POS, Nexternal webcart, and ShipCompliant systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipping order processing and statuses.
  • Resolve returned shipments.
  • Troubleshoot state shipping compliance through ShipCompliant.
  • Communicate inventory needs to Shipping Manager.
  • Perform weekly inventory counts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Be an on-site expert for all things shipping: state shipping rules and compliance, delivery estimates, weather holds, etc.

Tasting Room Associate

  • Educate customers on wines, vineyards, and company; share the Foxen story.
  • Partner with team members to provide customers with a superb wine tasting experience and visit to our winery.
  • Sell wine tastings, bottles, and merchandise using VinNow POS system.
  • Perform daily inventory counts and work with team members to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including stocking and cleaning.

 Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Passionate about wine.
  • Efficient, organized, and accurate.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.
  • Ability to match the ever-changing energy of clientele.
  • Familiarity with VinNow POS, Nexternal webcart, and/or ShipCompliant systems a plus.
