Due to some last minute staffing changes we are looking for an additional intern to join our team for Harvest 2019. The ideal candidate can start immediately and work hard through the end of harvest.
Bien Nacido Vineyards is a leading producer of terroir-driven, hand-crafted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah. We are seeking full time seasonal cellar, and lab interns with lots of energy and a positive attitude to join our team for the 2019 harvest. This position will start in August and end November, but will ultimately be determined by the weather. The interns will work closely with the winemaking team carrying out a wide variety of hands-on tasks in all facets of harvest work.
This is an opportunity to learn how to operate in a detail oriented, terroir-focused winemaking environment. You will get the opportunity to work with fruit from Bien Nacido Vineyards and Solomon Hills from the Santa Maria Valley. Jobs will include vineyard sampling, and analysis, crop adjustment, cleaning, grape sorting, crushing, monitoring fermentations, cleaning, punch downs, pump-overs, draining, cleaning, pressing, topping, racking, laboratory analysis, cleaning, etc.
Candidates should possess; previous winery experience, experience in wet chemistry, and strong organizational skills.
The winery is located in northern Santa Barbara County, approximately 15 minutes from Santa Maria. Housing is included for the duration of the internship but due to the remote location we require that applicants have a reliable vehicle.
The candidate should be able to lift/pull/push 50lbs, be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, have a valid driver’s license and have a flexible work schedule.
