The California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) is a non-profit organization that promotes environmental stewardship and social responsibility in the California wine industry. CSWA is seeking a Certification Coordinator to assist the CSWA team with the maintenance, improvement and implementation of Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW), a third-party certification program; and with designated CSWA projects. The position has diverse duties and responsibilities and supports a dynamic team in a fast-paced work environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Certification Manager and Director with administration, maintenance and improvement of the CCSW program, guidelines and guidance documents
Assist vineyard and winery applicants/participants, vineyard management companies, and auditors with certification steps, respond to questions, provide SWP Online System technical assistance and process applications
Coordinate Certification Review Panel audit report reviews 3 times per year, generate and mail certificates, notify participants and auditors of approvals and send renewal reminders
Maintain CCSW lists, track participant/acreage/case production and certified wine
Work with Communications Manager to regularly update website and assist with drafting and editing other certification communications materials
Work with the CSWA team to maintain and update the SWP Online System and SalesForce certification database
Draft workshop flyers and handouts, promote CSWA resources, workshops, webinars, conferences and events, and host CSWA booths at events
Assist with event and workshop planning and execution, and hosting certification webinars
Work with CSWA Board of Directors, Executive Director and Program Director to implement the strategic plan and work plans for special projects and grants
Work with CSWA Executive Director and Program Director to prepare certification materials for quarterly board meetings
Participate in other relevant CSWA activities as time permits
Additional Position Details:
This position reports to the CSWA Program Director and collaborates with staff members from CSWA, Wine Institute and the California Association of Winegrape Growers
The agreed work schedule will be 35 hours per week with a daily lunch break of 1 hour
Salary is commensurate with experience and is non-exempt from overtime compensation
Qualifications:
At least two years of experience in an administrative assistant or coordinator-level position, preferably within the wine/agricultural industry or an environmental/sustainability field
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment a must
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Computer proficiency required including Word, Excel, database management, PowerPoint and webinar platform (e.g., Zoom)
Certification experience preferred
SalesForce and InDesign experience preferred
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant field
