Paul O’Brien Winery, in the heart of the Umpqua Valley, is seeking harvest interns to assist our winemaking team for the 2018 vintage. Paul O'Brien works with many exceptional vineyards in the Umpqua, Rogue and Willamette Valleys. Harvest will include the opportunity to work with Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Grenache, Syrah, Merlot, Cab Franc, Malbec, Sangiovese, Dolcetto, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Chardonnay.
Harvest interns will be involved in a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis and experience many aspects of harvest. Responsibilities can include: must analysis, fruit sorting, additions & inoculations, cap management, juice & wine transfers, barrel work, and winery sanitation.
Ideal candidates should have at least one year of winery harvest production experience, be able to lift 50+ pounds, possess strong verbal and written English skills, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and must be willing to work extended hours including weekends. Forklift experience a plus. Most importantly, the right person will have a positive attitude and know how to have a good time while working hard!
