Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are looking to grow our small team at Johan Vineyards with the addition of a dynamic and passionate “hospitalitarian.” This individual would represent our brand, communicate our basic farming philosophies/winemaking intentions, and help clients new and old connect with our project as a Tasting Room Guide. Interested applicants should be eager to develop their knowledge of all aspects of the world of wine, and confident to share what they know with our guests. The right candidate would have occasional opportunities to gain experience helping in our vineyard and cellar during harvest, further deepening their understanding of the overall process.

We are open to a variety of experience levels and will provide appropriate education, although the ideal team member would have a foundation of basic wine knowledge and familiarity with world wines.

This full-time position is 30-40 hours a week with weekend availability required.

Essential Duties:
- Provide guests with a warm, knowledgeable tasting experience
- Handle larger groups with grace
- Promote wine sales and wine club sign ups
- Consistently perform opening and closing procedures
- Operate a POS and online booking systems (WineDirect and Tock)


Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be able to lift and carry 45 lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Able to multitask and "keep cool" while hosting multiple parties
- Must have or be able to obtain an OLCC servers permit
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- Restaurant/Hospitality/Event planning experience a plus

Compensation: Hourly DOE + Sales Incentives, health, dental, and retirement benefits available
