Job Description
This position is responsible for managing an assigned territory so that an appropriate sales volume is achieved. Selling responsibilities include introducing and promoting new products, improving distribution, and ensuring promotion results. As a merchandising consultant, the sales representative is expected to understand and execute company standards for off premise and for on premise permanent and point of sale for shelf, cold box, and floor displays in each retail account. Provides continuing and conscientious service for each account. Helps to ensure a safe and clean work environment through following the company’s safety policies and procedures. Occasionally a physically demanding position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Work independently to make regular account calls on approved customer list, preplanning and completing both sales and account maintenance functions as directed, providing superior customer service and building strong buyer relationships. 
• Achieve monthly sales goals including brand focus volume goals, new distribution initiatives and territory revenue. 
• Establish and grow viable levels of distribution across all commodities in the Northwest Beverages portfolio, with particular emphasis on wine and spirits.
• Create and deliver sales presentations, incorporating supplier/brand heritage, brand features and benefits, competitive pricing scenarios including quantity discounting, empirical sales data, and a convincing quality proposition. 
• Cultivate new distribution and increase rate of sale by proper use of merchandising techniques, develop features and promotions to support brands at retail. 
• Actively participate in company and supplier funded incentive programs. 
• Proactively open new accounts as directed, insuring beer, wine and spirits commodities are represented. 

Job Requirements
• Advanced understanding of beverage distribution, wine, beer and spirits category attributes and the three-tier distribution model. 
• Possess the ability to work in a team environment, delivering individual goals while providing for the best interest of the team. Using company resources efficiently and effectively. Interacting and communicating with team members, customers and suppliers in a professional and respectful manner, imparting enthusiasm and positive reinforcement of supplier and company objectives. 
• Maintain a high level of organization and time management, accurately complete daily preplans, monthly expense reports, other surveys and administrative tasks as required. Be proficient with both email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) as well as internal company technology. 
• Be adaptive to change and possess advanced problem-solving skills, approaching challenges with a can-do attitude. 
• Must be self motivated, a self starter, and able to work with very little direct supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and handle a number of different priorities on a 24 hour timeframe.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance, including business casual dress, hygiene and grooming.
• Comprehend and always operate under State laws, rules and regulations that pertain to alcohol sales. 
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)preferred; one to two years related experience or training in the beverage distribution or wholesale-supplier industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Must have valid drivers license, good driving record,proof of auto insurance (SR-22 is not acceptable), and own means of reliable transportation.
• Minimum of 2 years beverage sales experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate.

• Use of pallet jacks and hand carts are required to load and unload products for use in customer locations.
• Frequently lift and/or move 10-25 pounds and occasionally moving/pushing or pulling of up to 250 pounds (loaded hand cart or pallet).
• Required to regularly stand, walk, lift product floor to waist, shoulder to overhead, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

• This position will be performed at multiple locations throughout the Puget Sound Region.
