Warehouse Employee

Galaxy Wine Company is a wholesaler, importer, and distributor of fine wines. Based in Portland, Oregon, we distribute wines from around the globe to retailers, restaurants, and wine shops here in Oregon. We are looking for a warehouse person to join our team.

The ideal candidates should demonstrate high energy with strong work ethic and positive attitude!

• Reading and understanding instructions to correctly pick and safely pack fragile wine bottles from a picking sheet and attached instructions.
• Candidate should have no problem with lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly, pushing, pulling, bending, standing for long periods of time and using hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Candidate should be motivated, efficient, and very detail oriented.
• Applicants with prior experience in warehouse and delivery will be given priority.
• We train for mechanical pallet jack and forklift use but previous experience is preferred.
• The schedule is for Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with 4/10 schedules becoming available. (Four 10 hour shifts, Mon-Thurs, with Friday off)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No CDL required. please 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before customers, managers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MANAGEMENT ABILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl daily
