Retail Wine Sales - Independent Contractor (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

About The Position:
Are you looking for a fun Side Hustle in the wine business with growth opportunities? Strade Bianche Wine Importers are looking for a fun, outgoing person to help sell our wines into retail accounts in the Portland Metro market. Strade Bianche is a direct importer with a boutique portfolio of Italian wines that stand out among the competition. You would be calling on and selling to the retail stores and will be responsible for building a base business within the Portland, Oregon market.
This is an ideal position for those who excel in an entrepreneurial environment and are excited to directly impact their pay by bringing our wonderful portfolio of natural, organic Italian wines to the Oregon market. This sales position is commission only and has unlimited / uncapped commission only earning potential for those that can execute results. This role is best suited for candidates who are confident and effective in their sales abilities and excel in a more entrepreneurial, less bureaucratic environment.

Here is what we’re thinking:
•  Sell our wines into select retail account as new Points of Distribution
•  Up-sell these retail accounts for display opportunities
•  Merchandize our wines for proper shelf placement and potentially into the cold box
•  Warm up the lead for us to sell our wines into these retail accounts
•  Build and maintain rapport in these accounts and discuss and give feedback to the SB team.

We will provide extremely valuable industry experience into the fun and exciting wine business. We also provide great sales training from a knowledgeable team, and most important, we will provide specific Italian wine training from one of the owners who is an Italian Sommelier and wine consultant in Italy.

Please have at least:
•  2 years of sales experience
•  Experience and relationships with the Oregon retail account universe
•  Ideal background in the wine business or alcoholic beverages in general
•  Lives in the Portland area and has the ability to travel around the city and outskirts
•  Motivated to make an impact and has passion for wine


You will be representing our portfolio of wines and will be responsible for building a base business within the Oregon market. You will be paid on performance only (incentives and ongoing commissions from the accounts that purchase wine) as an Independent Contractor.

Strade Bianche Wines was founded by a small group of friends who are passionate about wine and joined forces in Italy and Oregon to import high quality Italian wines. We import the wines that local Italians are drinking, because those are the wines that we prefer to drink.

We specialize in importing small family production, high quality wine from producers whose passion and belief systems center around letting nature do the farming by using organic, biodynamic and sustainable farming practices without chemicals or pesticides. Our producers do not believe in manipulation or intervention in the cellar and their goal is a high-quality wine that is a true reflection of the terroir and vintage.
