Job Summary:
Red Tail Ridge Winery is seeking a full-time vineyard worker. This is primarily a labor position which includes all activities related to vineyard. It also includes some work in the cellar focused mostly on bottling and assisting with crush/harvest related activities. Applicants should have some experience with pruning, tying, shoot positioning (VSP), catch wire positioning, leaf removal, fruit thinning, and working with new plantings. Experience with trellis installation and maintenance, bird netting installation/removal is helpful.
Operation and experience is desirable, but not necessary with the following:
• Tractors
• Cultivation implements (3 pt and side mount),
• Front end loader
• Mowing with a brush hog
• Zero turn mower
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with:
• Vineyard maintenance and routine cultural practices
• Land preparation and installation of new vineyard property
• All harvest and crush activities
• Bottling procedures
Additional Qualifications:
• Applicants with prior vineyard experience are desirable
• Person must be self-motivated and able to work alone, or with others to accomplish assigned tasks
• Ability to repetitively lift at least 50 lbs
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required
• Aptitude for working as a team
• Willingness to work weekends if necessary, due to inclement weather and/or harvest schedules
