Vignobles Austruy, a Paris-based company that owns and operates wineries in France, Italy and Protugal, is looking to hire a Sales Director to oversee all business efforts in the United States.  This role involves both sales and operations management, and will be responsible for implementing the overall strategy for the company, executing marketing programs and assuring sales objectives are achieved. This includes managing a NYC-based sales office, heading up expansion into new markets, coordinating efforts with the distribution network, and managing all aspects of the U.S. operations of this growing supplier.

 

The position will be responsible for the following:

·        Coordinate with importers as needed to ensure that all legal and regulatory needs are met.

·        Collaborate with existing distribution network to ensure sales goals are met, pricing is filed on a timely basis, inventory levels are actively managed, and sales incentives are approved and implemented.

·        Create and deliver quarterly business reviews to wholesalers.

·        Establish and maintain connections with key retailers.

·        Travel domestically to work directly with distributors and wholesale clients, including staff trainings, marketing strategy sessions and progress reviews.

Skills and Qualifications

·        Minimum 5 years sales and/or operations experience in the alcoholic beverage industry.

·        Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Experience in leading sales staff, including training, development, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.

·        Ability to generate, analyze and interpret strategic and financial reports and projections.

·        Ability to effectively present information and  respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

·        Ability to solve practical and critical problems with clear solutions.

·        Existing relationships with regional or national wine retail chains are an asset.

·        French language skills a plus.

Salary + incentive bonus.
