Senior Sales Representative (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Role Description

BarrelWise is seeking a Senior Sales Representative to lead the company’s sales activities in the state of California. The successful candidate will identify, approach, and engage qualified wineries, develop relationships with key decision makers, and convert them to long term customers. They will work closely with the BarrelWise executive team to refine the sales process, discover new business opportunities, and drive revenue growth in North America’s largest winemaking market.

Key Outcomes

  1. Generate significant revenue growth by planning and executing sales and supporting activities in the area.
  2. Develop and maintain close relationships with customers to generate new business and referrals.
  3. Forecast and report on sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing network of industry contacts to engage winery decision-makers and deliver the BarrelWise value proposition.
  • Conduct calls, meetings, and on-site demonstrations to advance qualified prospects through the buying process and convert them to customers.
  • Negotiate to close sales deals.
  • Work with BarrelWise management to refine and improve the sales process.
  • Develop an intimate understanding of the BarrelWise customers, their problems, priorities, workflow processes, and how the BarrelWise solutions help them achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional sales experience and a proven track record of generating sales in the winemaking industry.
  • Successful candidate will bring an existing network of industry contacts that they will be able to approach with the BarrelWise product offering.
  • Strong technical background in winemaking or a related field. Ability to discuss technical aspects of wine production, including typical winery workflows and wine chemistry. Academic credentials in enology / viticulture and/or prior professional winemaking experience are preferred.
  • High levels of ambition, motivation, and a drive to develop a new, promising market for a fast-growing wine technology company.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the state of California, with a particular focus on Napa county, Sonoma county, and the Central Coast areas, to conduct in-person sales activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to quickly develop lasting professional relationships and build trust with prospects and clients.
