Tasting Room Sales Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

ROCO winery seeks a self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our hospitality team as a permanent PT Tasting Room Associate, predominantly on Saturdays. This individual must be a team player who possesses strong customer service skills and can represent our brand in a positive and professional manner. This position is responsible for providing the best possible experience to all guests of the winery, by educating, entertaining and connecting with the public on an authentic level. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and will have a strong background in hospitality and wine. They will be skilled at providing outstanding customer service, be detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and engage all visitors to the tasting room
• Administer wine tastings and provide information about the wines and winemaking
• Present the ROCO story in a positive and memorable way
• Develop customer relations and promote wine club memberships
• Accurately handle and perform routine sales transactions, including entry into POS system
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the tasting room and work environment
• Perform opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and passion for wine and the Oregon wine industry
• Must be 21 years of age and possess an OLCC server's permit
• Able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent customer service and sales skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests
• Ability to work well independently and as a team player
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Experience operating with POS system is a plus
• Prior experience selling fine wine is appreciated

Schedule and Availability:
This is a year-round, part-time position, that requires at least 2 Saturday’s per month. Flexibility to work holidays and occasional evenings as needed is also a must. This position will consist of working approximately 8-16 hours week . We seek an individual who can begin as soon as possible.
