Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

ROCO winery seeks a self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our hospitality team as a permanent, year-round Full-Time Tasting Room Associate (32-40 hrs/wk). This individual must be a team player who possesses strong customer service skills and can represent our brand in a positive and professional manner. This position is responsible for providing the best possible experience to all guests of the winery, by educating, entertaining and connecting with the public on an authentic level. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and will have a strong background in hospitality and wine. The perfect candidate will be skilled at providing outstanding customer service, organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead Guest Relations & Sales:
Greet and engage all visitors to the tasting room
Conduct wine tastings and provide information about the wines and winemaking
Present the ROCO story in a positive and memorable way
Sell wines and invite guests to become wine club members
Receive and manage incoming phone calls, including making tasting reservations
Accurately perform routine sales transactions and entries into POS system
Lead All Shipping Operations Including:
Execute web and TR shipping orders including communication and fulfillment
Assist Direct Sales Manager with all wine club operations/shipments
Order supplies, maintain shipping/winery area
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the tasting room and work environment
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Working knowledge of the Oregon wine industry
Must be over 21 years of age and possess an OLCC server's permit
Able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Extraordinary customer service and sales skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests
Ability to work well independently and as a team player
Professional demeanor and appearance
Experience operating POS systems (WineDirect is a plus)
Prior experience selling fine wine is appreciated

Schedule and Availability:

This is a full-time position (32-40 hrs/wk) that requires working Saturdays. Flexibility to work holidays, special events and occasional evenings as needed is also a must. We seek an individual who can begin as soon as possible.
