Experience a wine harvest in Oregon’s beautiful, lush, Willamette Valley this fall! A to Z Wineworks seeks cellar interns to work the 2019 vintage for both the A to Z and handcrafted REX HILL wine brands. This paid seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of winemaking tasks, across different production scales, and with fruit arriving from all around the state. A to Z’s winemakers have the most collective Oregon winemaking experience as well as having international experience in both hemispheres.
At A to Z Wineworks, the harvest experience is intense and diverse. You’ll earn your bragging rights. You can expect to work on grape receival, sorting, pressing, punch downs, tank dig-outs, racking, transfers, barrel work, inoculations, wine movements, juice, must and wine additions, driving a forklift and, of course, cleaning. You’ll work hard, in an environment that values teamwork and the harvest experience with fellow workers from around the world. Our harvest positions usually run from late August through mid-November, depending on the season. Of paramount importance, is that you can accept a flexible schedule, which will almost certainly include long hours, overtime, and weekend work. You’ll also need to bring to the role the ability to stand and move for at least ten hours; to lift, bend, rotate, move and carry up to 40 pounds over the course of the shift and on a repetitive basis; and to climb stairs, ladders and work on catwalks. Prior harvest experience is always appreciated but not required. We value curious, collaborative, hard workers who thrive in a team environment and are eager to pitch in wherever needed.
