Le Cadeau/Aubichon Cellars is a small boutique producer of primarily Pinot Noir, but also Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. In addition to our wines, we provide custom crush services for several other wineries. We are looking for a fun, conscientious, reliable and hardworking intern for this coming harvest here in Newberg, Oregon. A positive attitude, flexibility, a keen olfactory sense and good taste in music are requisite. Due to our size, interns will have exposure to most levels of wine production, including (but not limited to) vineyard sampling, cleaning, fruit sorting, cap management, more cleaning, juice analysis, barrel work, lab work, and floor scrubbing. Preferred candidates will have at least one year of winery production experience, their own transportation, a good work ethic, an ability to lift 60lbs repeatedly, an ability to work on your feet long hours throughout the week including extended hours as needed, and most importantly, a sense of humor. We are working with multiple clients and vineyard sites, so it is imperative to have attention to detail while regularly shifting gears. Some days are action-packed and fast-moving, others will be long and tedious. If your idea of a good time is dragging hoses around and scrubbing tanks while cold and soaking wet, we have a lot of fun in store for you. Harvest is expected to run from September through November, but this is the Willamette Valley, so anything can happen. Work days are 8 to 12+ hour days during peak periods.
This position does not include housing or transportation, but we will try our best to help you find something if needed. We provide most lunches - candidates with intolerance to burritos or cheap beer need not apply.
