Full-Time Direct to Consumer Sales Position; 5 days per week (Thursday-Monday)
Patricia Green Cellars is a small, privately owned winery located in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, producing world class Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay. We are seeking a high-energy, goal-oriented sales person to join our DTC sales team. This position manages appointment only tastings and tasting calendar, day to day tasting operations, inventory and non-wine sales (merchandise). The position will work closely with the rest of the DTC team to assist in wine club operations, warehouse fulfillment, inventory management and website upkeep. The position will also encourage growth to help promote company image, products, and mandatory contribution to the expansion of new ideas to sell product and build brand loyalty at the winery and around the country. Experience in wine sales is required. There is considerable future growth potential for this position. Compensation will be determined based on experience. Official hire date will be February 1st, 2018.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Greet customers and make them feel welcome and comfortable upon arrival in a non-pretentious environment.
• Lead private wine tastings with emphasis on vineyards, clones, terroirs & history of Oregon Wine industry.
• Close deals on wine sales and obtain new wine club memberships.
• Maintain relationships and accommodate long-time supporting customers and existing wine club members.
• Work with sales team on email blasts, customer communications, events, website maintenance, bi-annual newsletter, social media and promotions.
• Analyze performance against goals and identify opportunities to improve & increase tastings, sales and wine club signups.
• Assist in inventory management with warehouse transfers and wine ordering.
• Assist in wine club operations including allocations, custom orders, shipping needs and POS maintenance.
• Arrange appointments and send confirmations via email and phone communications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tasting areas, includes both indoor and outdoor areas for visitors.
• Provide exceptional customer service and wine education to all winery guests.
• Wash and polish tasting glasses on a weekly basis.
• Maintain relationships with neighboring wineries, restaurants and B&B’s to encourage appointment referrals.
• Assist in retail inventory and help with unloading wine, must be able to lift 40+ pound cases of wine.
• Contact wine club members and retail customers in regards to pick-up orders.
• Participate in key consumer and trade events on & off site.
• Event set up coordination & being present to work all winery events (specifically Pre-Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Pre-Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving & wine club pick-ups).
• Sole responsibility for ordering and inventory management of all promotional items: T-shirts, Sweatshirts, hats, glasses, corkscrews, wine bags etc.
Required/Preferred Skills:
• Minimum of three years Tasting Room or restaurant leadership experience
• A strong level of organizational and systems experience
• Knowledge of Oregon wines and wine production
• Excellent people management and customer service skills
• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems
• Must be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks at once
• Strong organizational, problem-solving techniques, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
