Sales Floor Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

The Sales Floor Manager has the responsibility for making sure the store appearance and the associates are ready for the customers. The Sales Manager spends the greatest amount of time in front of the customer. Accountable for building and maintaining an exciting, well-merchandised store environment, ad and promotional setup, and seasonal change over; all aspects that encourage the customer to come back to our store for all their customer needs. Major participant in driving sales, exceeding customer expectations and upholding the Sherry-Lehmann experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures that the customer experience adheres to the company policy. 
  • Inspects premises of assigned area stores to ensure that displays are kept at company standards and adequate security exists. 
  • Ensures that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes and ordinances. 
  • Coordinates sales and promotional activities of the store. 
  • Coordinates schedule of all Sales Floor Employees. 
  • Directs compliance of workers with established company policies, procedures, and standards such as safekeeping of company funds and property, personnel and grievance practices, and adherence to policies governing acceptance and processing of customer credit card charges. 
  • Reviews operational records and reports to General Manager to project sales and to determine store profitability. 
  • Review sales data with the GM to manage and maximize the velocity of prime products. 
  • Review sales data and replenish report for what should be merchandised at the B & M Store. 
  • Weekend work is required. 
  • Open and close store. 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Manages all subordinate sales floor employees. Responsible for direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Experience Qualifications: 

•  A minimum of two years in sales or industry related experience is required.

Knowledge/Skills: 

•  Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience. 
•  A sound understanding of wine and spirits is required.
•  Strong computer, customer service and interpersonal skills required. 
•  Results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills; uses diplomacy and discretion.
•  Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines. 
•  Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software. 
•  Wine knowledge – certifications a plus
