REPORTS TO: NY Metro Fine Wine Sales Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Fine Wine Sales Consultant is responsible for executing and delivering sales plans in their assigned account base. The position will report to the NY Metro Fine Wine Sales Manager. This is a market level field sales position.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
• Execution of fine wine sales goals in the assigned account base
• Identify opportunities to increase market share and share of mind at account level
• Continue to grow the wine culture of our organization in the New York market
• Develop, grow, and maintain business levels and relationships at the account level
• Activate and position our producers and suppliers to be sold at a high velocity in the on-premise and off-premise channels
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Physically visit and call on accounts to execute sales goals
• Use company platforms (SevenFifty, Great Vines, OID) to create selling materials, analyze and review sales history, survey accounts, enter orders, and record results for follow up
• Perform staff training in on-premise and off-premise accounts
• Attend and engage in internal training as well as external trade events
• Engage in weekly communication meetings with NY Metro Fine Wine Manager to review planning and results
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers through superior service
• Prospect for and open new on-premise and off-premise accounts
• Attend dinners and company functions as needed outside of normal business hours
• Regular communication and interaction with supplier and producer partners
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred 5 years industry experience with hospitality/wine/sales background
• Preferred WSET Level 3, CMS Certified, or ASA
• Mandatory: High level organizational and planning skills for long term development and growth
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem solving and multi-tasking capabilities
• Ability to work extended hours if required
• Ability to travel to sales meetings and trainings, as well as to and from accounts
• Understanding of multiple languages and cultures as relating to wine regions
• Ability to speak about the context of wines and their profiles, features and benefits
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook (calendar maintenance crucial)
• Preferred experience with common industry software (i.e. Diver, GreatVines, SevenFifty/Provi)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
• Frequently required to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
• Occasionally needed to travel internationally or domestically by plane
• Occasionally needed to lift and /or move more than 50 pounds
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
• Salary position determined by experience, with the plan to grow territory to commission based
• Eligible for bonus potential, supplier incentives and domestic and international travel incentives
