Retail Wine & Spirits Specialist
(Wine Jobs:
Wine Retail & Sommelier)
Full Time
Mister Wright Fine Wines
New York City,
New York
Come join the fun, chaos and the turning of the seasons. It’s that time of the year where the stuff hits the fan, but we love it. It’s harvest in the Northwest.
We are a small boutique producer of primarily Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but also a bit of Pinot Gris, Cab, Tempranillo, and Rosé. In addition to our wines, we provide custom crush services for several other notable wineries, so interns get to work with fruit from several vineyards and be exposed to multiple wine production styles. We are looking for a couple fun, conscientious, reliable and hardworking interns for this coming harvest here in Newberg, Oregon. A positive attitude, flexibility, a keen sense of humor and good music choices are a definite plus. Due to our size, interns will have exposure to most levels of wine production, from vineyard sampling, sorting, cap management, analysis, barrel work, etc. Preferred candidates will have at least one season of winery production experience, their own transportation, a good work ethic, an ability to lift 60lbs repeatedly, and a desire to work on your feet long hours throughout the week including extended hours as needed. Harvest is expected to run from mid-September through November, but this is the Willamette Valley , so who knows when it will actually show up. Work days can sometimes reach 12+ hour/day during peak periods, but we really try to keep that at a minimum. Harvest is an exceptional time here in the Willamette Valley.
This position does not include transportation. We might have a couple options for housing.
