Sales Associate
Millesima USA, a fine wine merchant on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, right at the 72 street Q train stop, specializing in European wines, is seeking an experienced sales associate to join our growing business. We are looking for a salesperson who can guide customers with varying levels of knowledge at our retail storefront. The successful candidate will be expected to provide sound purchasing advice tailored to each customer’s preferences, with the aim of developing and maintaining a following. The ideal candidate will also be prepared to take on expanded responsibilities as opportunities present themselves.
Responsibilities
· Guide customers with purchasing advice tailored to each customer’s preferences, with the aim of developing and maintaining a following.
· Process orders and insure their accomplishment through delivery.
· Provide world-class customer service.
· Increase and maintain clientele database.
· Pro-actively sell through email, phone etc.
· Learning Millesima’s systems and procedures to enhance selling efficiencies and complete support duties.
· Be knowledgeable of and perform sales support functions related to POS procedures.
· Be aware of current promotional events and sales.
· Participate in store opening and store closing duties.
· Participate in industry tastings and weekly tastings with wholesalers.
· Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
· High-end sales experience, especially wine retail, preferred.
· Wine knowledge is required. WSET Level 2 Intermediate or equivalent.
· Knowledge of Bordeaux wines and Futures.
· Passion and Enthusiasm for fine wine.
· Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
· Building and maintaining strong relationships and demonstrating excellent teamwork.
· Candidate must be organized and possess strong communication skills.
· Candidate must demonstrate authentic customer service, planning, priority setting, and the ability to implement projects.
· Must be comfortable with point of sale software, and Microsoft Office Suite, ie. Excel, Word.
· Candidate must be legally eligible for employment in the United States.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening and weekend shifts.
Position Details
Full time commitment. Must be available evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and bonus incentives.
