OVERVIEW

An established vineyard and winery located in the Napa Valley that produces about 50,000 cases annually is looking for a full-time bookkeeper.
  

SUMMARY

The Winery Bookkeeper will assure accurate and timely reporting, and carefully monitor the timing of cash expenditures. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize are imperative. The ideal candidate should have a background in general accounting. Experience in the wine industry is highly preferred.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Responsible for all accounting functions and maintaining accuracy of all financial data,

which includes:

-  Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Accounting

·         Enter invoices into accounting system and prepare checks

·         Process incoming checks and prepare for deposit

·         Enter and reconcile daily sales into accounting system

·         Prepare a monthly balance sheet and income statement

·         Reconcile bank statements every month

·         Promptly process employee expense reports

·         Maintain a clean and orderly office and safeguard all confidential records

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting

·         Wine industry experience including an understanding of winery management and operations

·         Cost experience in the wine industry is desirable

·         Excellent organization and time-management skills

·         Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task

·         Work in a courteous, competent, and efficient manner

 

You must have strong QuickBooks Enterprise accounting software experience.
