Trefethen Family Vineyards, a family-owned estate winery in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, is looking for a detail-oriented team player to coordinate our in-house shipping and related logistics. Although most of our consumer direct orders ship from an off-site warehouse, this position covers all orders which need special attention and are therefore shipped directly from the winery. Under the supervision of the Sales Administrator, the Shipping Coordinator executes a variety of tasks from multiple departments while maintaining great attention to detail and taking pride in the work and its successful execution. This role works closely with sales, marketing, wine club and other members of the winery. This is a full-time position, which is eligible for benefits including participation in our 401k plan, medical/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation and sick time, employee wine allocations, and more.
Responsibilities
• This position handles packing and shipping of in-house domestic and international orders, including but not limited to wine club, tasting room, marketing and sample orders
• Organizes company mail and distributes to appropriate departments on a daily basis
• Runs errands as needed: warehouses, bottle etchers, post office, etc.
• Assists with accurate inventory of wines and merchandise
• Orders and inventories all shipping supplies
• Organizes consolidations: pulling and tagging wine accordingly, delivering to warehouse, and preparing bills of lading
• Processes wine returns from warehouses, special events, etc.
• Responsible for special projects as directed by manager
Qualifications
• Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic and communication skills
• 1-2 years of experience in shipping
• Proficient with UPS and FedEx systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to respond to frequently changing needs
• Ability to handle numerous projects in progress at one time
• Experience operating a forklift a plus but not required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV report
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Work is performed in a warehouse where temperatures are cool and noise level can be moderate to high.
• Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
• Lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; walk, kneel, crouch and climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to work in different exposures: indoor, outdoor, hot, cold, wet or dry
• Ability to work while standing on different surfaces: cement, blacktop, gravel and dirt
