Operations Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Full Time

  Wine Country Online

  Napa, California

Visit Wine Country

Join us in the development and release of a unique technology platform designed to optimize both the consumer and venue experience in California's wine industry. Our team has been in stealth mode for nearly two years developing a native "cloud to mobile" solution pairing a consumer mobile application with a wine venue visitor management platform. We will launch both solutions in California in 2019, and are seeking to add resources to our team in areas of product, operations, and development. Our company is the perfect blend of wine, hospitality, technology, and experience. If these are areas of interest for you, we would like to meet you.

Visit Wine Country is transforming the way consumers find and experience unique wine venues. The process of searching for, booking, coordinating and experiencing wine related travel is largely manual today; VWC application solutions are designed to evolve these activities into something more modern, while retaining today's charm and personal experience.

 Operations Manager

This position is responsible for ensuring the customer-facing teams have the tools and information needed to achieve their goals. This is done by partnering cross-functionally with product, development and senior staff for operational excellence in the areas of strategic planning, forecasting, sales compensation and systems & tools.

Responsibilities

·        Expertise in the areas of knowing how to use data and insights that provide business decisions support for strategy, planning and outreach operations.

·        Create customer segmentation models, sales coverage/territory designs, sales compensation alignment, programs and systems & tools developments enabling decision support.

·        Orchestrate across teams, both yours and others’, to build and execute complex business plans and strategies.

·        Run effective sales forecasting processes, ensure pipeline velocity, account planning and business reviews.

·        Make the right decisions for VWC through deconstructing complex issues into actionable ideas, have the capacity to zero in on what is most impactful, and a willingness to say no to good ideas so that we can do something great. This includes leading changing priorities, urgent customer needs, or during the end of the quarter push to meet forecast.

·        Ensure the team is effectively using the tools, business metrics and reviews, and sales process to meet and exceed these commitments.

·        See around corners and look beyond just today.

·        Understand the competitive landscape, industry trends, and external pressures that may impact customer buying decisions.

·        Understand how financials work to drive investment decisions within a company.

·        See the world through the eyes of the customer.

·        Unlock the potential of every relationship by getting to know people, soliciting input and feedback from a wide variety of experts inside and outside of VWC.

·        Connect with and influence the right people, at all levels and functions in the company.

·        Manage difficult conversations and own the hard calls.

·        Being responsible for the success of a project even when you don’t oversee all the pieces. You are successful by relying on your own expertise, trusting in others to deliver on theirs, and through deep collaboration.

·        Keep confidences and work selflessly to always do what’s best for VWC.

·        Design, build, facilitate and own the core customer-facing processes needed to run the business — this includes weekly forecast & pipeline management, coverage & territory design, account segmentation, quota allocation, and business objectives. Lead strategic business planning to enable future revenue growth.

 Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.

·        5-8 years of experience leading business operations (or similar experience in finance or analytics functions, leading across diverse teams that balanced between delivering on short-term revenue and satisfaction goals, while seeing around corners to enable future growth).
