Each staff member is asked to help create an environment which encourages respect, honesty and trusts amongst all co-workers and also offers the highest degree of service to each customer; each staff member is asked to help maintain the store image as an ethical and positive place to work and to shop. In addition, TPSS Co-op is committed to being an educational resource to the community on ecological, environmental and food related issues. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify price tags are present for all products in the department.
• Place weekly orders for the beer and wine department to ensure adequate on-hand inventories.
• Facilitate tastings with beer and wine vendors.
• Post proper departmental signage/shelf talkers to aid movement and customer education.
• Create sales within the beer and wine department to correspond to tasting events and monthly DLC discounts.
• Supervise Beer and Wine Stocker including scheduling, training and evaluating.
• Meets margin target.
• Participates in states promotion.
• Maintain department cleanliness.
• Organize front and back stock to facilitate ease of locating specific wine and types of wine.
• Act as MOD as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Alcohol Service Certification.
• Buying experience.
• Available to regularly work on busiest sales days of beer and wine.
• Relevant product and industry knowledge. Good working knowledge of the natural and organic foods market and commitment to the cooperative movement preferred.
• Ability to train co-workers and serve as a resource to them.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job.
• Attend any required meeting.
• Participate in quarterly inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work mornings/evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Have completed the state alcohol training.
