Chrysalis Vineyards in Middleburg, VA is looking for Vineyard/Cellar Technician Intern to work with our Winemaker. We are the World's leading Producer of Norton and also grow and process Albariño, Viognier, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, Tannat, Fer Servadou, Graciano, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, and Tinta Cão.

Job Description:
-cleaning, sanitizing and sterilizing all winery equipment, including Crusher, Presses, tanks, pumps, hoses and fittings
-racking, pumping, and blending of juice and wine
-filling, topping and racking barrels
-making additions to wines and juices
-obtaining samples for the Lab
-fining and filtering of juice and wine
-pumpovers and punchdowns on fermenting wines
-miscellaneous duties as assigned
-LOTS of cleaning
-shoot positioning, green harvesting, trellis repair, irrigation management
-assist in scouting for diseases such as powdery mildew, other vertebrate/invertebrate pests, and any abnormalities
-other duties may be assigned depending on seasonal need

Job Requirements:
-ability to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis
-physically able to climb ladders and steps, be on your feet for extended periods of time in an often wet and cold environment
-follow Safe Operating Procedures, Good Housekeeping Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
-follow directions and have basic math skills
-be able to work outside for long periods in all types of weather, including temperatures of 90F+, high humidity and rain
-able to walk long distances on uneven terrain
-the position is split about 30/70 between the Cellar and the Vineyard, depending on Seasonal demands
-work Overtime and extended hours on limited notice during the height of Crush
-Housing and Transportation are NOT available for this position
-no VISA assistance is available
