Product Specialist (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Full Time

  Spirited Engraving

  Miami, Florida

Position Summary:

We are looking for someone that loves wine, liquor and all the details that surround it! Chasing down the latest release from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection or knowing what the newest hottest distillery is should get you excited. The website is your storefront and you work daily to make it the best ‘online liquor store’ in the world. Not only do you know all the details and stories behind each product but you pride yourself on your ability to negotiate a larger allocation or build out the largest gin selection on the internet.

You work hand in hand with the buyer to maintain vendor and supplier relationships while keeping the team up to date on new items, exciting releases and/or older inventory that needs to move. You must enjoy providing continuous ideas/content to the marketing team for emails, blog posts, social media posts and help develop the content calendar around current trends and our inventory. Bonus points for using the word egg in your cover letter. You probably are a member of numerous online forums and private facebook groups about spirits. Not only do you have a strong knowledge of wine, beer and spirits but you can explain what you know to both, the layman and the connoisseur (ie: you are no snob!)

You should be in a friendly relationship with SEO and have the drive to constantly update the websites (our store) with better titles, updated descriptions and exciting new content that helps sell sell sell! You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are bored with traditional food and beverage roles. This is a chance to take your extensive knowledge and passion for spirits and apply it to a cutting-edge e-commerce experience then this role is for you!

Who We Are:

Spirited Gifts was started 6 years ago while I was still working my day job as a wine buyer. After about a year working both jobs, I took the plunge and quit my day job to pursue e-commerce full time. Another year in I convinced my sister to join me and started the engraving and personalization part of the business, which she now runs. Since the beginning, we have doubled revenue annually and are completely self-funded. Within the past few years we started doing our own fulfillment and carrying inventory, which brought on a whole new set of challenges and things to learn. This year we are continuing to expand by adding marketing and paid advertising and a host of other channels to the mix. Henry Ford once said; Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. I agree.

Had you been with us last month, you would have:

  • Facilitated purchasing a 50 year-old scotch and launched the story of acquiring such a rare bottle on our website complete with written content and images for email, blog, and all social channels.
  • Met with current and potential suppliers to be kept abreast of new and trending releases.
  • Found 20 stagnant products that could be optimized or listed in a different way to help move them.
  • Attended a portfolio tasting and came back with 15 new spirits never available online before.
  • Negotiated your way to an extra 4 cases of E.H. Taylor by agreeing to add a new vodka to our ‘Of The Month’ selection and created a martini gift set to help move this new stock.
  • Enjoyed a nice drink of Clase Azul Tequila after hours with the team.

Requirements

Who You Need to Be:

Our Founder & CEO is a true entrepreneur that likes trying new things and testing the boundaries of the industry. This means there are many projects going on simultaneously - project and content management, as well as organization, is a priority.  Being able to prioritize, adhere to deadlines and making sure nothing falls through the cracks is a big part of the job.

  • Experience in the spirits industry and an obsession with ecommerce - you should be familiar with best practices and keep up with industry trends. You probably have a favorite food and beverage-centric podcast.
  • Experience in Product Management Systems or Product Information Management
  • Fluency in Excel
  • Experience in SEO and ecommerce systems
  • The ability to lead a project from start to finish, no matter how big or small.
  • A strong bias toward execution. You love working both independently as well as in team environments.
  • You truly thrive when given freedom and flexibility. You don’t need a babysitter!

This position is located in our warehouse off of Bird & 57th. We have an intimate in-house team with a start up feel and a focus on results, collaboration, and learning new skills quickly. The ideal candidate would be looking for that perfect long-term opportunity with advancement and growth potential. We have been doubling in volume year over year and aim to continue to do so with your help! Please provide an example of a time you had a memorable taste of an obscure spirit and what you garnered from that experience in your cover letter.
