The Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors and provide leadership to the Rogue Valley Wine Industry. Exceptional stewardship and strategic planning skills will aid our organization in promoting our objective to further the Rogue Valley AVA within the wine industry locally, nationally and internationally. Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, achieving organizational goals, and maintaining sound financial practices are priority.
The ideal candidate must possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, outstanding communication skills, strong leadership qualities, and good planning and organizational skills. Key to the role is the ability to be a consensus builder that helps create a more inclusive and connected Rogue Valley wine industry while broadly promoting the message of Rogue Valley wine. The exceptional Executive Director should be forward-thinking, creative, and position the Rogue Valley for recognition far into the future.
Executive Director Responsibilities
General Management
•  Develop and execute a 2 year business plan with corresponding budgets and resource allocations to move forward RVV’s work on key pillars in its strategic plan (note: a strategic plan with key areas of focus on financial sustainability, marketing/brand recognition, front line tasting room training, and a wine quality initiative has already been developed)
•  Develop a quarterly work plan setting key goals and deliverables that ladder up to the business plan/strategic plan; this work plan will be approved by the board and will be the basis for the ED’s bi-annual evaluation
•  Oversee day-to-day business activities
•  Preparing comprehensive budgets and managing the organization within them
•  Building membership to create long-term financial sustainability
•  Communicating with membership to drive engagement
•  Develop and foster Industry organization relations and stakeholder partnerships as well as engage
with community groups
•  Managing assets and overseeing financial accounts
Sales, Marketing & PR
•  Execute annual Marketing Plan with selected vendors (note: a 2 year marketing plan has been developed)
•  Increase trade, media and consumer recognition of the Rogue Valley
•  Market the Rogue Valley at trade shows and events
•  Management and continuous improvement of the Rogue Valley Vintner’s website with selected
vendor
•  Development of marketing materials, advertising, press pitches/stories, social media campaigns
and newsletters with selected vendors
Board & Committee Interaction
•  In collaboration with the Board President and Vice-President, plan monthly board meetings and annual board retreat
•  Plan monthly meetings with committees and hold committees accountable for work deliverables
•  Provide regular reporting to board of directors of organization activities and financials
Executive Director Qualifications
•  Degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent.

Compensation & Expectations
Salary & Benefits
•  Yearly Contract Compensation Range 50K-60K
•  This is an independent contractor role; RVV’s expectation is that the responsibilities in this role can be accomplished in 3-4 days a week. RVV seeks a minimum one-year commitment to this role.Contractor is allowed to pursue other work, as long as it does not present any conflicts of interest with the business goals of RVV
•  Compensation commensurate with experience, including potential bonus compensation for meeting/exceeding goals
