Head Maintenance Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

SUMMARY 
Oversees maintenance/repair for J&S Winery operations. This includes but is not limited to all waste water and processing applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

•  Install, troubleshoot and repair winery equipment, which may include welding, PLC’s, electrical, pumps, plumbing and machining. 
•  Perform mechanical tasks, such as lubrication, filter replacing and mechanical repairs to pumps, and compressors.
•  Documents repairs made. 
•  Tracking all work orders in a PC based system
•  Reassembles equipment and tests for conformance to specifications. 
•  Works on assigned projects; responds to emergency maintenance calls. 
•  Disassembles malfunctioning equipment; examines and tests mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery. 
•  Inspects and calibrates instruments. 
•  Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards. 
•  Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals) as required. 
•  Maintains constructive cross-functional relationships. 
•  Searches for and executes against continuous improvement opportunities. 
•  Performs work in a quality fashion. 
•  Performs basic electrical installation; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state, & federal regulations. 
•  Services pumps and drive system components. 
•  Troubleshoots basic alarms related to key winery systems. 
•  Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment, and filtration equipment. 
•  Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for destemmers, presses, and crush pits. 
•  Maintains shop machines, tools, inventories and facility. 
•  Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance. 
•  Follows shop safety practices and shop housekeeping practices. 
•  Operates electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely. 
•  Provides general facility maintenance and servicing for other departments. 
•  Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. 
•  Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. 
•  Wash water supervision and management
•  Maintain refrigeration system and electrical components
•  Reports directly to the facility manager

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

•  High School Diploma or GED. 
•  2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment
•  Available to work 4/10’s on a rotating shift (day, swing, and graveyard) and occasional overtime. 
•  Valid Washington State DL 
•  Clean DMV record. 
•  Comfortable conducting work at extreme heights. 
•  Lift and carry a minimum of 60 pounds. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

•  Associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance and Repair plus 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment OR 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment. 
•  Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation. 
•  Experience working in a food manufacturing or wine production facility. 
•  Operates well in a team setting. 
•  Knowledge of drinking water systems. 
•  Experience maintaining and repairing large production equipment. 
•  Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel at a basic level. 
•  Experience writing reports and procedures manuals. 
•  Skilled in reading electrical schematics; possess PLC skills. 
•  Bilingual in English and Spanish. 
•  Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

•  Must be able to certify and be respirator fit.
•  Must be able to withstand medium to high temperatures
•  Must be able to work with chemicals utilizing required necessary P.P.E.
•  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
•  Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry 50 – 70 + lbs over extended periods of time.
•  Must be able to walk, climb, push, pull, kneel and bend at the waist over extended periods of time.
•  Must be able to work overtime during peak harvest season
