Director of Wine & Spirits-NH (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

This position leads the overall effort to maximize sales, distribution and profitability within the State of New Hampshire. The Director of Wine & Spirits works with the General Sales Manager in planning, organizing, directing schedules and evaluating the work of direct reports. The Director of Wine & Spirits is also responsible for compliance of Company standards and policies in all areas impacted by the assigned division.

Position Responsibilities:
• Plan, execute & achieve division goals and objectives for sales, product distribution and service.
• Work with sales team to secure new business and building on existing accounts.
• Collaborate with Chain Account Manager in preparing and executing sales presentations to chains.
• Identify, target and develop potential new accounts within assigned territory.
• Negotiate with the State of New Hampshire distribution of new items, programming and general pricing strategies.
• Serve as the liaison to Excel Warehouse regarding bailment. Communicate any issues with the Purchasing Department in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Business Development Mangers on a regular basis to stay current on market-wide business trends and developments.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, efficiency and service levels.
• Provide market and competitive information to sales team as it pertains to sales strategy decisions.
• Ensure optimal and maximum utilization of promotional programs and company resources. Actively participate in the planning and development of all wine tastings, wine dinners and wait staff training's. Utilize assistance from the Business Development Managers as needed.
• Plan, organize and facilitate trade shows.
• Execute against a targeted non-buy account list by customer & brand. Work with sales team to secure new business through closure of account & distribution voids on a regular basis.
• Work with Wine & Spirits sales management team to evaluate compliance to company standards and identify coaching opportunities.
• Assist in the selection and training of sales personnel within the division.
• Ensure route coverage at all times, monitor vacations and cover routes on as-needed basis. 
• Review and evaluate assigned sales personnel as required.
• Submit all paperwork/reports on or before assigned deadlines
• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: District Management within territory.

Position Requirements:
• 10+ years proven managerial experience
• 10+ years proven sales experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of fine wine, spirits, the hospitality & grocery channel industries.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed, including late nights and weekends
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, specifically with email (for communication), Word (for letters, reviews, etc.) and Excel (data manipulation and/or data gathering) and Power Point for presentations.
• Valid NH state driver’s license and safe driving record.
