Early Mountain Vineyards is seeking a full-time cellar worker.
Under supervision, the job responsibilities will include:
• All cellar activities including, but not limited to, grape processing, fermentation, aging, finishing, filtration and bottling;
• Equipment operation including, but not limited to, all harvest equipment, forklifts, filtration, pumps, bottling line, etc.;
• Maintaining high level of cellar cleanliness and sanitation;
• Ensuring that all cellar work is completed in a timely fashion and recorded in work orders and winemaking database;
• Maintaining a safe and orderly working environment;
• Maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations;
• Participation in blending, strategy and other winemaking activities as needed; and
• Representing the winery on site and at events with a high level of professionalism and character.
Qualifications:
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Willingness to work long hours and up to 7 days a week at harvest-time
• Understanding of general winemaking practices
• Previous cellar skills/experience
• A positive attitude, sense of humor and keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Spanish speaking skills are a plus
Compensation: this position will be paid hourly, is eligible for overtime pay, and include a generous benefit package.
