Position Summary:

The Regional Vineyard Manger will direct and coordinate daily farming activities for many high-quality vineyards that provide fruit for exceptional Texas wines. He/She will oversee numerous vineyards and successfully execute specialized management and growing techniques in the areas of pruning, irrigation management, weed control, chemical applications, disease and pest control, cultivation, canopy management, crop estimation, harvest, safety, and compliance.

Essential Job Duties:

•  Develops and farms the highest quality vineyards and fruit in Texas
•  Maintains highly effective communications and working relationships with the Vineyard Management Team and Clients to develop plans and forecast immediate and future needs
•  Effectively trains, develops, and manages a team of skilled vineyard employees to direct day-to-day farming activities
•  Plans the efficient deployment and use of equipment and personnel for company employees and any contractors
•  Manages pest control activities, internal field scouting programs, work orders, and use reports
•  Orders, inventories, and distributes chemicals and fertilizers; oversees precision of chemical and fertilizer applications
•  Ensures timely and accurate data collection to assemble and update crop estimation
•  Manages the collection and dissemination of all soil, water, and tissue data
•  Understands and executes company sustainability programs and assigned special projects
•  Actively supports company programs and communications, marketing initiatives, and community outreach

Background/Experience:

•  Degree in Viticulture or a related relevant field, or at least 4 years of direct vineyard experience is required for this position
•  Possess significant prior farming experience including winegrowing
•  Demonstrates effective communication skills, ability to build positive business relationships at all levels of the company
•  Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology quickly
•  Chemical and fertilizer experience is highly desirable
•  Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
•  This position requires excellent planning and organizational skills as well as the ability and willingness to work as a team player
•  Must be a strong, positive people manager

Employment Conditions and Requirements:

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The Regional Vineyard Manager is frequently exposed to inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals and must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment. The Regional Vineyard Manager must possess a current, valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle within state laws and company policies. May occasionally need to work Saturdays and/or non-traditional hours.
