Staff Accountant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for day to day accounting operations and assist with month end close and account reconciliations. Vineyard experience is desirable, but not required. We are willing to train the right person. 

Duties and responsibilities

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

•  Processes all weekly payroll deposits, and prepare quarterly and annual returns 
•  Creates and posts journal entries
•  Input intercompany payables on a weekly basis
•  Creates and maintains amortization schedules on various loans
•  Harvest related grape billing and payroll support 
•  Maintains equipment lists and folders electronically and in hard-copy form
•  Prepares and maintains excel spreadsheets (i.e., rent schedules, AP breakdown, loans, etc.)
•  Prepares and generates billing invoices (i.e., vineyard management customer billing)
•  Determines health plan eligibility on a monthly basis for seasonal employees
•  Assists with month-end closing activities and preparation/issuing of financial statements
•  Generates, submits, and mails all 1099 forms for year end
•  Assists with W-2 forms for year end
•  Assists with year-end audit and tax activities
•  Identifies and resolves accounting issues as necessary
•  QuickBooks, Excel, Word Experience Preferred
•  Assist with projects, as needed
